Testimonials

Don't just take our word for it. Here are some stories from customers who've already used DairyCare with great results.

Wayne Vernall, Te Awamutu

I've used DairyCare tonic regularly on 600 head for the last year. Mastitis was minimal throughout spring, zero up to the end of April. SCC stayed below 200,000 throughout. Empty rate was only 4% - And 80% of the cows were in calf in the first three rounds of mating.

Kevin Hopkinson, Dargaville

In the days without DairyCare Tonic, fat and protein levels were lower. General herd health is much better now, and I'm spending much less than usual for veterinary care.

Arthur Podjursky, calfbreeder, Taranaki

I found that calves grew faster, reaching scaleable weight earlier, and at a premium price for their top condition - the best of any seen by the stock buyer.

Richard & Deborah Washington,

If our herd doesn't get its regular dose of DairyCare Tonic, there's a noticeable drop in production and MS rates.

Karen Petch, Northland in Dairying Today

50ml of DairyCare Tonic at birth helps to kick-start their immune systems. I continute with maintainance dosing of 2ml to 5ml daily with another 50ml boost at weaning time. I compared 15 dosed calves against 15 without, and only the dosed group remains scour-free. And for calves with scours, I won't use anything else.

Bruce and Patrina Kennedy, Morrinsville

Production Monitoring

Bruce has been using DairyCare tonic through an in-line water dispenser at a rate of 5ml per cow/day as a health tonic since the start of the 2005/2006 dairy season. His production records for the past 4 seasons were examined to determine if any changes were evident.

2003/2004 – no DairyCare used
2004/2005 – no DairyCare used
2005/2006 – DairyCare used
2006/2007 – DairyCare used

Somatic Cell Count

Bulk Milk Somatic Cell Counts were downloaded from the Fencepost website.

The average BMSCC for the 2005/2006 season, during which DairyCare was used, is significantly lower than the previous seasons when no DairyCare was used. The 2006/2007 season results until 11 October are also showing better results despite a poor start, typical to the Waikato, to the season.

Production Parameters

There appears to be trend across the seasons for production to increase, BMSCC to decrease, calving spread to tighten, and for the number of mastitis cases to decrease. Although there are many factors other than DairyCare involved, especially the effects of different seasons and increased cow numbers, there is a positive association with the use of DairyCare tonic.

Raedon Jackson, Te Aroha

Readon Jackson is a breader of premium dairy cows. He uses the DairyCare Tonic to control herd health by giving his high SCC cows 100ml per day for 10 days.
